Liberal Member of the NSW Legislative Council, the Hon Peter Poulos MLC will deliver his Inaugural Speech this evening on Tuesday 23 November 2021 at 6:00 pm.
This historic occasion will occur in the Legislative Council Chamber, NSW Parliament House.
Peter Poulos is the first Greek-Australian Liberal in the NSW Legislative Council since the late Hon (Jim) James Samios in 2003.
He is a Member of the 57th Parliament and a Chair of Committees.
“Parliament is still currently closed to the general public. Covid forced us all to adapt with the aid of technology.
“We saw the huge uptake of virtual services at church, attending Microsoft Teams work meetings or homeschooling our kids with the aid of Zoom,” Mr Poulos said.
“My children are still attending Greek school via Zoom and so I’d love to extend an invitation to the Greek Australian community through your fantastic Greek City Times readership to virtually attend my inaugural speech as well.
“You can simply watch me live on Tuesday 23 November 2021 at 6:00 pm via peterpoulosmlc.com or alternatively the NSW Parliament’s website,” Mr Poulos said.
“This is a great way to get to know me a little better and see what happens in the NSW Upper House.
“I hope you can join me on the night for this special occasion in Australia’s oldest parliament,” Mr Poulos said.
The speech will also be shown on the Greek Australians Facebook Page.
